Who is the course aimed at?
This course is aimed at adults aged 19+ who are unemployed, changing career or new to care, and want to quickly gain the skills, experience and confidence needed to start a job in health and social care.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualifications required to enrol. Learners must be aged 19+, have a genuine interest in health and social care, and a commitment to attending and completing the programme. Basic English skills are needed.
Course Content
This Skills Bootcamp equips learners with essential foundations for Adult Social Care, covering preparing to work in care, food safety, health and safety, infection control, safeguarding, equality and diversity, dementia awareness, and core employability skills to support progression into work or further training.
Learning Materials – What you need to bring
No formal materials required. Positive attitude and engagement required. Resources will be provided on site.
Learning Methods
You will learn through a mix of interactive classroom sessions, practical activities, online learning and real‑world scenarios led by experienced tutors. Learning includes group discussions, hands‑on tasks, employer insights and supported work experience. You’ll also receive coaching for CVs and interviews, helping you build confidence and apply your skills in real care settings.
Learning Support
You will be fully supported throughout the programme. Experienced tutors provide one‑to‑one guidance, additional support is available where applicable. Learning is inclusive and supportive, with clear feedback, regular check‑ins and help to overcome barriers, ensuring you feel confident, capable and ready to progress into work.
Course Assessments
Skills Bootcamp assessments are practical, supportive and designed to build confidence. You will be assessed through tutor observation, practical tasks, short knowledge checks, group activities and portfolio evidence during the programme. There are no exams. Assessment focuses on demonstrating understanding, safe working practices and readiness for employment in health and social care settings.
What can learners do next?
On completion, learners can progress directly into employment with local health and social care employers, supported by guaranteed interviews. Learners may also move on to Level 2 or Level 3 Health and Social Care qualifications, apprenticeships, or specialist training in areas such as dementia care or support work, helping build a long‑term, rewarding career in the care sector.
Are there any fees?
This course is fully funded, so there are no course fees.
