Who is the course aimed at?
This bootcamp helps you develop green and sustainable business skills. It will give you credits towards further study. The course will help you to improve how organisations plan and operate. Businesses are moving towards a low-carbon, more sustainable future. We will need strong leadership and new ways of thinking to make the most of new opportunities. On this course, you will build skills in four key areas:
1. Self-awareness for the Green transition. Understanding your own and your organisation’s role in supporting a low-carbon economy.
2. Transformative thinking for the 21st Century. Learning how to explore and apply new ideas to drive positive change.
3. Developing Green leadership styles - exploring leadership approaches for the green economy.
4. Delivering long-term impact - turning sustainability goals into practical actions that deliver measurable results.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but participants should have an interest in sustainability, the green economy, leadership and the application of these areas in the workplace.
Course Content
You will learn green and sustainable skills for strategy and operations. This will help the move from degenerative to regenerative practices. Development to support the low-carbon economy. Tools to explore & put in place innovative ideas. Green leadership styles for a green economy. Enabling real, measurable changes in organisations. Sustainability as a competitive advantage. Behaviour change. Communication. Sustainable decision-making (Sustainability Assessment). Sustainability & business risk/continuity.
Learning Materials - What you need to bring
Please bring a laptop or tablet, (if you have one), a notebook and pen, any Keele login details you have already been sent and any examples, ideas or challenges from your workplace or business that you would like to explore during the course.
Learning Methods
The module provides a practical introduction to leadership in sustainability, organisational resilience, and decision-making for the future. You will learn to:
- Critically assess sustainability challenges
- Identify strategic opportunities
- Apply principles of organisational and behaviour change
- Develop practical interventions and action plans for your organisation
Learning Support
You will have access to the full range of learning support provided to Keele University students. If you have a support need, you are encouraged to inform us of this during the application process to ensure that we can make any reasonable adjustments required to enable you to successfully participate in the bootcamp.
Course Assessments
During the programme, you will complete a reflective portfolio of short reflective and applied tasks linked to module topics. You will also produce a practical, evidence based sustainability action plan tailored to your organisation, demonstrating the ways in which you have applied the learning from the programme.

Past participants in our Skills Bootcamps have been able to successfully embed their learning into their organisations and many have achieved promotions into new roles such as:

This course is fully funded, so there are no course fees.
