What happens next - SEN transport
If your child is eligible
If the SEND Assessment and Planning Team confirms your child is eligible for travel assistance, they will notify the SEN Travel Assistance Team. The SEN Transport Team will then contact you to discuss suitable travel options.
Types of travel assistance
Travel assistance may be provided in one of the following ways:
- A pass for public transport (bus or train). Pupils may need to change vehicles during their journey. Independent travel training may be offered for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
- A payment to cover your own travel arrangements, such as a mileage allowance or a personal travel assistance budget (PTAB).
- A place on a Staffordshire County Council contracted vehicle arranged by us.
