New industrial access works at the Harrier Centre

Staffordshire County Council Highways will soon begin phase 1 construction of a new industrial access at the Harrier Centre on Wood End Lane, between the accesses to Wesco/Anixter and Halso Fuels.

The work will take around 12 weeks and will be completed in two phases, with a break over the Christmas period.

When will the works take place?

Phase 1: 19 October 2026 to 11 December 2026

Phase 2: 4 January 2027 to 29 January 2027

When will the works be completed?

The scheme is scheduled to be completed on 29 January 2027.

Will I still be able to access my home or business?

Yes. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the works.

During the road closure in January 2027, temporary diversion routes will be in place for through traffic. Access to nearby properties will still be available.

How might the works affect me?

  • Temporary traffic signals will be used at times on Wood End Lane.
  • During Phase 2, Wood End Lane will be closed for up to 5 days.
  • A signed diversion route will be provided during the closure.
  • Access to neighbouring properties will be maintained.

How you can help

You can help us complete the work safely and with as little disruption as possible by:

  • Keeping children away from the work area.
  • Driving carefully and following any temporary traffic management.
  • Checking your shoes before entering your home or vehicle to avoid bringing in bitumen from the works.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these improvements are carried out.
