Road safety education resources and presentations are available free of charge to all Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent schools.
Our interactive sessions support students at key stages of their road safety journey and can be tailored to address local issues affecting you school.

Pedestrian safety
Suitable for Year 7 Students
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
This interactive session explores the risks young people face when travelling independently and helps students develop safer behaviours around roads.
Students will learn about:
- Common distractions including mobile phones, headphones and peer influence.
- Risk-taking behaviour and how it affects safety.
- Recognising hazards when walking and cycling.
- Practical strategies for making safer choices when travelling.
Good decisions
Suitable for Year 9 students
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
This interactive, discussion-based session helps students understand how risk-taking decision-making and distractions can affect their safety when travelling.
Students will learn about:
- Looking right, left right when crossing roads and why it matters.
- The impact of distractions such as phones, earbuds and friends.
- Safe use of public transport and travelling independently.
- Seatbelt responsibilities and legal requirements.
- How brain development can influence risk-taking behaviour.
- Practical strategies to reduce risk and stay safe on the road network.
Pre-driver road safety awareness
Suitable for Year 12 students
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Designed for students who are preparing to learn to drive, this session focuses on the risks faced by young drivers and passengers.
Students will learn about:
- Why young drivers are at greater risk of collisions.
- The effects of speed, distraction, impairment and peer pressure.
- Safe passenger behaviours.
- Strategies for reducing risk as a driver and passenger.
- Making positive choices before starting to drive.
New and young driver road safety awareness
Suitable for Year 13 students
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
This session supports young drivers as they begin driving independently and promotes safer driving habits
Students will learn about:
- Collision risks affecting young drivers.
- The dangers of drink and drug driving.
- Speeding and peer pressure.
- Being a responsible passenger.
- Basic vehicle checks, maintenance and driver responsibilities.
- How to protect their licence and stay safe on the road.
