People looking to start or change a career in Staffordshire's vibrant multi-million-pound tourism industry are being encouraged to make use of free support from Staffordshire Jobs and Careers.
The service, delivered by Staffordshire County Council, helps local people to find work while supporting businesses with their recruitment needs.
This World Tourism Day (27 September), the county council is highlighting the range of hospitality and tourism career opportunities available across Staffordshire's hotels, restaurants, visitor attractions and more.
The call comes as Staffordshire celebrates the continued success of its visitor economy, which is now worth a record £2.84 billion, supporting 24,833 jobs across the county.
Robin Hall, Staffordshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said:
World Tourism Day is a chance to celebrate the fantastic businesses, attractions and people who make Staffordshire such a great place to visit.
Tourism and hospitality contribute billions of pounds to our local economy and support thousands of jobs across the county. It’s important that local people can access these opportunities and that businesses can recruit the skilled workforce they need."
One local business that has seen the benefits of working with Staffordshire Jobs and Careers is Quarry Walk Park, a family-run holiday park near Alton that welcomes visitors from across the UK and supports local employment opportunities within Staffordshire's thriving visitor economy.
