Two Staffordshire companies have been recognised for their contribution to business in the 2026 King’s Awards for Enterprise.
The awards are presented annually by the British monarch and winners are selected based on their achievements in one or more of the following categories: innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility. The winners are selected by an independent panel of judges who are experts in their respective fields.
Both award-winning Staffordshire companies, Woolcool of Stone and Lynguard Limited of Chesterton, won awards in the International Trade category:
The companies will receive their awards later this year via the Staffordshire Lieutenancy on behalf of the King.
Professor Elizabeth Barnes CBE, Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, said:
“I am delighted that two of our leading businesses in Staffordshire have been recognised with the King’s Award for Enterprise, the most prestigious business award in the UK, and both being celebrated for their success in International Trade.
“Woolcool has already received two Queen's Awards previously, having been recognised for their innovation and sustainability, and this demonstrates the all-round strength of their business.
“Lynguard represent the best of British design and it is fantastic to see their growth in international trade acknowledged in this way. They are both great examples of the strength of our creative industries in Staffordshire.”
The King’s Awards for Enterprise are among the most prestigious awards for UK business. They are open to businesses of all sizes, from small startups to large corporations, as well as individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to the UK economy and society.
