Resurfacing work at the junction of Henhurst Hill with Postern Road and Hopley Road in Burton is due to start on Wednesday 4 November.
The resurfacing work is part of a £500,000 county council project to install four-way traffic lights at the junction to improve safety and help manage traffic in the area.
Crews will be resurfacing within the bus stop area and hope to complete the work on the day. To make sure the work can be done safely, temporary traffic lights will be in place from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and again on Thursday 5 November if necessary.
Peter Mason, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways, said:
“This has been an important project for the town and it’s great to see crews moving on to the final resurfacing phase of the scheme.
“As always we’ll be doing our best to get the work done as quickly and efficiently as possible and crews hope to get it done in one day, weather permitting.
“It’s been a successful project, with crews also bringing forward a number of pothole repairs that were due to take place next year. This is exactly what our Roadmap to a Better Network plan is all about: tackling different issues at the same time to reduce disruption and make our roads better for the long term.”
