A £365,780 scheme to reconstruct and resurface the A460 Lodge Lane roundabout in Saredon has now been completed.
The Staffordshire County Council highways scheme, which began on Monday 27 July, has improved the condition of the road and helped make journeys smoother and safer for drivers using the busy route.
The work included removing the existing carriageway surface, reconstructing sections of the road, replacing and resetting carriageway ironworks, emptying highway gullies and installing new road markings.
The scheme was carried out overnight between 7pm and 6am on weekdays to reduce disruption to businesses, bus services and people travelling through the area. Roads remained open outside these hours during the works.
Councillor Dan Cecil, Staffordshire County Council Cabinet Member for Highways (South), said:
“This important scheme has delivered lasting improvements to a well-used route through Saredon, making journeys smoother and safer for drivers.
“We know roadworks can be frustrating, even when they are needed, and I would like to thank residents, businesses and drivers for their patience while this work was carried out.
“By working overnight, crews were able to complete the reconstruction as safely and efficiently as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum during the busiest parts of the day.”
