Highway crews from Staffordshire County Council have completed improvement works on Bower End Lane in the village.
The scheme included fixing a number of potholes and resurfacing of the lane along with repairs to kerbs, ironworks and drainage systems.
The resurfacing will help extend the life of the lane while the repairs to the drainage systems should help to reduce long-standing issues with excess water from adjacent fields gathering on the lane and causing damage.
Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways at Staffordshire County Council, said:
“This was only a small scheme but an important one for people living on the lane.
“The long awaited improvements have made a huge difference and it’s good to hear the positive feedback from residents.
“By resurfacing the road and repairing damaged kerbs and ironwork, we’ve been able to prolong the life of the road. The lane was also very prone to flooding, which damages the road surface, so fixing the drainage system should be a big help.
“This is only one of many schemes taking place in the area and part of the county council's commitment to maintaining and improving Staffordshire's roads, helping to create a safer and more reliable network for residents, businesses and visitors.”
