Highways improvements in Biddulph to start next week

Meadows Way

A highways improvements scheme on the A527 Meadows Way in Biddulph is due to start on Monday 20 April.

The £580,000 scheme is being delivered by Staffordshire County Council and will include the resurfacing of the road along with repairs to kerbs and ironworks. The work is expected to take around two weeks to complete.

To make sure the work can be done safely, temporary traffic lights will be in operation for much of the scheme.  The road will also be closed each night between 7pm and 6am for the duration of the works.  Access for residents to nearby roads will be maintained wherever possible.

Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways North at Staffordshire County Council, said:

“This is an important scheme for Biddulph and those who pass through the area, and is part of wider road improvements in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

“The work is likely to take around 2 weeks to complete and crews will be doing all they can to minimise disruption to residents. As with all our schemes, I’d like to thank people in advance for their co-operation while we get the work done.”
