A free event designed for rural businesses based in the Moorlands will take place in Biddulph next month.
Hosted by Staffordshire County Council in partnership with Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, the access to finance for rural business will set out funding options available, including grants and loans, as well as how to apply.
A range of organisations that provide support to Moorlands businesses will be exhibiting at the event, including Staffordshire County Council, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
Robin Hall, Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said:
Starting and growing a business isn’t easy, so we want to make it as straightforward as possible for people to access practical advice, funding and the right support.
Our programmes are continually evolving to meet the real needs of small businesses. They’ve already helped many enterprises across Staffordshire, but we want to ensure that new and growing businesses know what’s available, particularly in those crucial early stages when access to finance can make all the difference.
This free workshop brings that support together in one place. Businesses can find out about our Get Started and Grow programme, the Staffordshire Business and Environment Network, the Growth and Skills Hubs, Made Smarter and Staffordshire Skills and Employability, all while making useful connections over breakfast.”
The event includes business support, networking and advice, with a presentation from Tom Nadin, Head of Project and Business Services at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.

It’s tailor-made for rural businesses in Staffordshire that are planning a new project, investing in equipment or simply looking to explore future options.
Alongside the chance to ask questions and get expert advice, participants can connect with other rural businesses and learn about the wider business support available in the county.”
Access to finance for rural business takes place at Biddulph Town Hall on Thursday 24 September from 9.45am.
