Expert speakers, advice services and funding will be key features of the first ever Business Support Conference hosted by Staffordshire County Council next week.

Alongside networking and gaining key insights, the conference will act as a touchpoint for organisations based in the county, helping forge strong connections across the business community.

The county council’s business support team will also be on hand to discuss opportunities for growth, challenges in the local economy and the support available to help small enterprise thrive.

More than 200 Staffordshire businesses have already registered for the event, which is open to start-ups, scaling businesses, rural enterprises and established SMEs.

Guest speakers at the event will include Leader of Staffordshire County Council, Martin Murray, Karen Woolley from the Federation of Small Businesses, Kerry Haughton from HSBC and Chelsea Spencer, Chartered Marketer and Founder of Big Reputation based in Uttoxeter.

The event will also feature practical breakout workshops and a networking lunch providing opportunities to discover new support and build valuable connections.

Businesses can book a spot at the event webpage.

Martin Murray, leader of Staffordshire County Council and former owner of a successful hospitality business in Cannock, urged businesses to attend the conference and access support that will help them grow and thrive.

He said:

The first ever Staffordshire Business Support Conference is set to be an interactive and dynamic event, bringing together up to 300 businesses to connect with the support and funding available in Staffordshire.

This will be an excellent opportunity for businesses to gain practical insight from experts and create networks and relationships that can help them succeed.

Our comprehensive package of small business support demonstrates delivery in one of our priority areas in backing enterprise and innovation across our county.”
