Award-winning Little Heroes campaign set to launch in Walsall

Jon McNamee, Headteacher at Brownhills West Primary School said: "We are very excited to be part of the Little Heroes campaign.

"At Brownhills West, our values are rooted in Belonging, Ambition and Responsibility. The Little Heroes campaign will only strengthen our culture by helping every child feel seen, supported and proud of attending our school.

"It's a positive, child-friendly way to promote strong habits, deepen relationships with families, and ensure every child has the best chance to learn, grow and thrive."

Councillor Janet Higgins, Cabinet Member for Education and SEND at Staffordshire County Council, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the difference Little Heroes has made for children, families and schools across Staffordshire. By focusing on both attendance and emotional wellbeing, the campaign supports children to feel confident, happy and ready to learn.

“It’s fantastic to see Walsall Council adopting Little Heroes. Sharing best practice like this is exactly how we can make a bigger impact, ensuring even more children benefit from an approach we know works and one that children recognise and enjoy.”

Councillor Lisa Jones, Cabinet Member for children, education and skills at Walsall Council said: “Improving school attendance and supporting children’s wellbeing are key priorities for us in Walsall. After seeing the success of Little Heroes in Staffordshire, it made perfect sense to work together and build on something that is already making a real difference.

“This partnership approach allows us to bring a proven, engaging campaign to our schools, helping more children feel supported, confident and ready to attend school every day.”
