More than 120 apprentices, along with local employers, will gather for the Staffordshire Apprenticeship Graduation ceremony on Tuesday 14 July.
The event, at the County Showground in Stafford, brings together apprentices, their friends and family, employers and training providers to celebrate the achievements of the county’s apprentices. Since its launch in 2015, more than 1,200 apprentices have graduated.
Places for this year’s event are still available and can be booked on the graduation ceremony’s webpage.
People have until Wednesday 24 June to register.
In 2024/25, 9,615 people started an apprenticeship in Staffordshire and they remain key to growing the county’s economy, helping fill skills gaps across various industries.
While there is a need for apprentices in most sectors, there remains a particular demand for Health and Social Care, Construction and Green Skills.
Studies show that apprenticeships can lead to increased earnings, up to £12,000 upon completion. With the introduction of new modular apprenticeship units and a reduced minimum duration from 12 to 8 months, apprenticeships will also allow for faster, more flexible skills development to meet employers’ needs.
Robin Hall, Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills at Staffordshire County Council, said:
“Apprenticeships are one of the best investments we can make in Staffordshire’s future.
“They give people the opportunity to gain valuable skills, earn while they learn and build successful careers. At the same time, they help businesses develop the skilled workforce they need to grow. Our annual graduation ceremony is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication and achievements of our apprentices. They should be proud of what they have accomplished and the contribution they are already making to our economy.
“Whether you are starting out, changing career or looking to develop new skills, apprenticeships offer a pathway to success. I would encourage both individuals and employers to take a closer look at the opportunities available.”
