Localised Support Across Staffordshire
The Families First service operates across 19 geographical patches within Staffordshire’s 8 districts. Services are delivered locally by:
- Early Help Teams
- Safeguarding Units
- Looked After Children’s Services
- Children’s Disability Teams
Coordinated Response
Families First brings together all services that work with children, young people, and families to ensure a joined-up approach.
Levels of Need & Support
Level 3 – Multiple Needs
- Who is helped? Children with multiple needs affecting health, development, or learning.
- Response: Typically managed by Early Help Teams.
Level 4 – Acute Needs
- Who is helped? Children in crisis or with complex, long-term needs, including:
- Children with complex disabilities
- Those suffering or at risk of significant harm
- Children offending or subject to court orders
- Response: Delivered by Specialist Services, such as:
- Youth Offending Service
- Short Stay Schools
- Disability Services
- Specialist Safeguarding Units
- Looked After Children Services
Getting in Touch
- Early Help Team: For general enquiries or organisational support.
- Safeguarding Units: For children already supported by a social worker.
- Staffordshire Children’s Advice and Support Service: For urgent safeguarding concerns.
