Equipment responsibilities, maintenance and contacts

Fixed equipment we maintain through the council’s contractor

  • Vertical (through‑floor) lifts
  • Step lifts
  • Ceiling track hoists (including slings)

Stairlifts and Clos‑o‑Mats (adult installations) are not maintained by the council after the manufacturer’s warranty ends — the owner is responsible.
Exception: stairlifts installed for children under 18 continue to be maintained.

Portable equipment (for example, floor hoists, mattress variators, hospital beds, bath lifts) is maintained by Medequip: 01785 273950.
