Morfe Mill Bridge, Morfe House Lane, Enville
Together with Amey we will be carrying out bridge strengthening works at Morfe Mill Bridge, Morfe House Lane, Enville.
The strengthening works are essential to maintain structural performance and integrity. The works will include:
- Strengthening of the existing masonry arch bridge with construction of a reinforced concrete ‘saddle’ and parapets
- Installation of scour protection measures
- Repointing and brickwork repairs
When are the works taking place?
The works will start on Monday 6 October 2025.
What is the duration of the works?
Approximately 15 weeks. We shall endeavour to complete works as soon as possible to minimize the impact on road users.
How will the works be carried out?
A full road closure will be implemented for the duration of the works. Morfe House Lane shall be closed from Poolhouse Farm to Morfe House farm. Access to frontages will be provided however there will be no through route for the works duration.
During the works a diversion route shall be in place as follows:
When approaching from the north towards Morfe House Lane
- Continue east along Mere Lane for approximately 1.4km
- At the junction, turn right onto Highgate Road, continue for approximately 1.0km
- At the junction, turn right onto Morfe Lane, continue for approximately 1.0km to reach the junction with Morfe House Lane
When approaching from the south the above diversion route applies in reverse.
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any road closure, some delays may occur
How you can help us
Please keep children away from the works to ensure their safety.
- Always adhere to the road closures and follow the diversion routes.
- Please drive slowly and with caution through the works when gaining access to frontages.
- Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
