Site Investigation Work on the A519 Brook Lane in Newcastle-Under-Lyme
Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out site investigation works at the A519 Brook Lane, as they prepare for work on an £580,000 investment in the local area, which is due to start later in the year. The team will be inspecting the drainage features and coring the carriageway within the works area. There will be a road closure in place between the hours of 7pm and 6am. A diversion route will be signposted to minimise disruption.
When are the works taking place?
The work will commence 18 March 2024
When will the works be completed?
Approximately 10 Working Days
Will I be able to access my home/business?
For the safety of the public and of the work force this road will be closed during the drainage survey, this will be done between the hours of 19:00 – 06:00 throughout the duration of the scheme.
For the small number of properties within the work area access will be maintained when safe to do so.
A diversion route will be signposted for properties outside the work space, no through traffic will be permitted
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.
Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.
Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases (public letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details).
How you can help us
You can help us to get the job done with the minimum disruption by following this advice:
- Please keep children away from the works while they are being implemented to ensure their safety.
- Please drive appropriately by following the signed diversion routes and adhering to access restrictions.
- Account for possible delays when planning journeys
