We have completed design work on the proposals for Gallowstree Roundabout at the junction between Cemetery Road and A525 Keele Road. Construction work is commencing here on 18 September 2023 and due to last for approximately 7 weeks. Below you can find drawings illustrating the scheme and the temporary traffic management that will be in place for the project to be delivered safely:
Below you can find drawings illustrating the preliminary layout for the project on Barracks Road & Hassell Street, this is subject to ongoing change through the current detailed design process and all affected stakeholders will be consulted on the proposals at the appropriate time:
When are the works taking place?
The works at Gallowstree Roundabout are due to commence on 18 September 2023. This will involve traffic management in the form of lane closures and temporary lights. With daytime road closures planned for w/c 30 October 2023 on Cemetery Road.
The project at Barracks Road & Hassell Street is currently in its detailed design stage, meaning physical construction works will not be taking place for some time yet. We anticipate works will commence in Spring 2024. However, expect to see officers wearing PPE and undertaking surveys of the road network from time to time. This may also involve short-term Traffic Management to the A527 Barracks Road/Hassell Street junction.
What is the duration of the works?
The works at Gallowstree Roundabout are due to last for 7 weeks.
The project at Barracks Road & Hassell Street is still subject to survey works, which will be short duration and generally undertaken during off-peak times. Further updates will be provided on when the full construction programme will commence.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
Yes, access will always be maintained for homes and businesses at all times.
During the closures on Cemetery Road on w/c 30 October 2023, access to your home or business will be maintained from the north end of Cemetery Road only, at the junction with B5044 Silverdale Road.
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community, however some disruption or delay can be expected and we would ask you to allow slightly longer for your journeys.
