Planning applications that may affect protected sites or species, priority habitats or species, or important geological/geomorphological features require submission of survey and assessment information to show how the proposed development may affect these environmental assets.

Biodiversity and geological conservation validation checklist

This gives guidance in regard of survey and information requirements for planning application registration.

Please note: this guidance will be updated to reflect the national planning policy framework and cancellation of PPS9.
