Calling all budding DIYers! Enjoy hands-on learning in a peaceful countryside setting with friendly tutors. Use sustainable, seasonal materials to explore DIY and crafting techniques that boost wellbeing, confidence and everyday independence.

Aims of Course

No prior experience is needed—just enthusiasm to learn and contribute. Our supportive tutors will guide you throughout the course, helping you build confidence and practical knowledge.

Entry Requirements

No experience needed - just a keen interest in crafting or DIY. You will need to attend all sessions, be open to learning new skills, and keep a simple learner journal to help track your progress and support your goals along the way.

Express your creativity to support your wellbeing, take your beautiful creations home. From making insect homes, upcycled jam jar vases, tin lanterns, phone cases, I-pad covers, keyring holder - to designing self-watering planters and exploring a variety of creative projects, you will gain inspiration and confidence to reuse and repurpose in imaginative ways.

How you will learn?

Learn face to face in a classroom or outdoor setting using hands-on activities, demos, videos, handouts, group chats, quizzes and by creating your own learning folder—designed to suit different learning styles and build confidence step by step.

Learner support

Learning support is offered throughout the course to meet your needs, whether it be support with completing your learner journal, an I-pad or a person to build confidence and guide you in the right direction.

Course Assessments

You will be reviewed at the start, throughout and at the end of the course. You will be given the opportunity each week to review your learning and identify where you may need extra support to enable your full enjoyment of the course or pursue additional areas of interest.

Learning Materials

Please bring appropriate clothing for the course you will be participating in e.g. outdoor clothing as some crafting sessions will involve being outdoors doing willow weaving  Do not forget suitable footwear - e.g., boots or wellingtons. A packed lunch may be required for some sessions, but for most sessions lunch is provided.  All materials needed for the course will be supplied but we always welcome donations of any crafting materials if you have spare or surplus.

What can learners progress onto next?

There will be a selection of courses available for the new academic term in September.
