4 Seasons Countryside Craft and Wellbeing

Improve your self-confidence and self-esteem, be inspired to learn new skills and support your wellbeing. Join us to celebrate the best that the countryside has to offer, upcycling foraged resources to create traditional artwork and crafted items.

Who is the course aimed at?

This is an introductory course for Staffordshire residents aged 19+  who would like to support their wellbeing,  including those who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed.    

Entry Requirements 

No prior experience is needed to take part in this course,  just an interest in supporting your wellbeing, nature and arts and crafts

Course Content

Countryside art and craft, building confidence to improve your wellbeing, and an introduction to skills and techniques needed to complete your crafting projects, including foraging for organic resources from our garden and farm hedgerow, and experimenting with colourful mosaic glass art. 

Learning Methods

This is a face-to-face learning course with a 'learning at home' element - you will complete 4.5 hours face to face at our rural venue - Chase Aqua Rural Enterprises [CARE] - plus 30 minutes independent activities at home including reflecting on your progress and how you might develop this further next time.

Learning Support

Your Tutor will support you throughout the course, including help with IT skills to photograph and record your work. Transport is available from Cannock Leisure Centre, Penkridge Village, Stafford Sainsbury's, The Royal Oak car park at Rising Brook.

Course Assessments

At the start of your course the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course and guide you to set some personal goals. During the course you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular ponts and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.

Learning Materials

Most course resources will be provided by Chase Aqua Rural Enterprises [CARE]. You may like to provide some foraged or upcycled resources of your own 

What can learner’s do next/progress onto?

At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available on-line and in your community. This could include vocational skills courses in Floristry, Horticulture, Art, Green Crafts, Rural Crafting, also personal development in English, numeracy and digital skills.
