Do you feel confident with online shopping. No? This course is the right one for you! This course will give you the skills and confidence to shop online, make savings and pay safely and securely.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at Staffordshire residents aged 19 and over who wish to develop internet skills further to be able to gain a more savings online approach and to be able to shop, eat and travel taking advantage of discounts and access a range of deals and be reimbursed for shopping using cash back and access and download everyday manuals and brochures.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Course Content
The course looks to help in everyday internet savings by using a range of features and savings offered online and will help you look at built in browser saving and comparison tools as well as apps and sites that promote and save you money with dining, travel and shopping such as Groupon and Wowcher. Learners will also be able to gain an understanding of the use of current favoured commerce sites such as Temu and Shein and look at online marketplaces for buying and selling products and clothing using Vinted ad eBay. Furthermore you will explore payment options including the use of mobile payments, PayPal and Klarna and understand the safety and security that comes with it. Stretching your purchases to reward you via cash back and voucher codes will also be explored and demonstrated to show how you can benefit from these rewards. Learners will also practice how to obtain manuals for appliances and devices and download to save to folders and the cloud for quick access and sharing.
Learning Methods
Teaching will include a tutor led session in small groups, 1:1 tuition, tutor demonstration, quizzes, and practical exercises. You will work at your own pace and will complete the activities using your device or the library computer. Your learning progress will be recorded.
Learner Support
Your tutor will support you throughout your learning journey. Your tutor will get to know you and what you want to achieve and include this in the delivery of session. You will also have the opportunity to have some one-to-one time with your tutor.
Course Assessments
Through the session you will complete a number of tasks relevant to your learning. Your tutor will give you feedback using an Individual Learning Plan, this will record your learning and your achievement.
Learning Materials
You will need to provide your Date of Birth, Postcode and proof of ID (passport, national ID card, driver's licence). For the session you will need a pen, a note pad and a documents folder. For homework you will need an internet connected device, either a PC, a laptop, an iPad, tablet or smart phone - you could do this at your local library.
What can learners do next/progress onto?
Your tutor will provide you with information and advice about other learning opportunities. You can progress onto a digital skills course. You may also want to gain a qualification to help you develop more skills for everyday life or for employment. You can also learn at home using Learn My Way, Skillswise or BBC Bitesize websites.
