Who is the course aimed at?
This is an introductory course for Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who would like to support their wellbeing, learn new vocational skills, including those who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed.
Entry Requirements
No prior experience or formal entry requirements are needed to take part in this course, just an interest in gaining confidence in your digital skills. You will be able to work with others as part of a team to create a detailed design for your project.
Course content
This course will help you to create a detailed design for a community wellbeing sensory garden. You will be able to work as part of a team, gain more confidence using digital skills and learn how to stay safe online. We will discuss your long term aims, and help you set personal goals. By taking part you will support your local community and develop employability and volunteering skills.
Learning methods
This is a face-to-face learning course. The course will provide an opportunity to develop your digital, volunteering and employability skills further, learn about and use new and emerging digital applications, socialise with others in the learning environment. Learning is also supported with an on-line Padlet learning blog.
Learning Support
Your Tutor will support your learning, including help with IT skills to photograph and record your work. Transport is available from Cannock Leisure Centre, Hednesford Tesco, Penkridge Village, Stafford Sainsbury's, and The Royal Oak car park at Rising Brook.
Course assessments
At the start of your course the tutor will ask you about any previous learning or experience you have, the type of support you need, what you want to achieve and help you set some personal goals. You will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular ponts and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
Learning materials
All course resources and equipment will be provided by CARE. There will be an opportunity for you to use your own smart phone/tablet/digital device as part of the course.
What can learners do next after this course?
At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available online and in your community. This could include vocational skills courses in digital skills, Horticulture and wider personal development including English and numeracy skills.

This course is fully funded so there are no course fees.
