Natural Home and Me

Looking after yourself and your family doesn't have to cost the earth, financially or environmentally. This course provides learners with an opportunity to make simple changes which will improve your health, wellbeing, the environment and your purse strings.

Dates, locations and times

27 February 2026 to 27 March 2026, Fridays

In-person sessions held on the first and last week of the course from 10:00 - 2:30pm each day. They are delivered at: Fox Room, John O'Leary Centre, Marquis Drive, Cannock WS12 4PW

The remaining hours are delivered through independent work to be completed over the middle weeks - 2 hours per week. Emails are sent out at around 10:00am each week. 

Who is this course aimed at?

Staffordshire residents aged 19+

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, just an interest in the topic 

Course Content

This course will guide you through simple, everyday changes to help support you, your family and the world around us. You will try recipes and tips for natural cleaning and bath and body products, as well as exploring crafty ideas for upcycling and top-tips for conscious shopping! 

Learning Methods

This is a 15 hour blended learning course held over 5 weeks. There are 2 face to face sessions to start and end the course (both 4.5 hours each) with the remaining 6 hours spread over middle weeks, delivered through themed weekly email packs and access to digital resources. You can try the activities and explore the resources in your own time. 

Learner Support

Your tutor guides this course and provides expert support wherever needed. We offer choice and flexibility to provide a quality learning experience. We work together to ensure the course is accessible and works for you. We offer a personal approach to our courses and are on hand to help and support throughout. Through WhatsApp groups and online platforms, we encourage learners to help each other, to create a supportive online learning environment.

Course Assessments

There are no formal assessments as part of this course. We ask for weekly feedback to encourage regular reflection. There are two compulsory final feedback forms to complete at the end of the course. 

Learning Materials

We provide you with engaging learning materials and access to digital resources. For the face to face sessions we ask everyone to bring something to sit or lie on, such as a picnic blanket, yoga mat or plastic bag. You will need to bring your own lunch to the face to face session.

What can learners do next/progress onto?

Many learners move onto other Community Learning courses. We also create robust links with local projects and community groups to further develop skills, knowledge and sustainable connections. We provide ideas for next steps throughout the course tailored to individual interests and aspirations too.

Are there any fees?

This course is fully funded and so there are no course fees.
