South Staffordshire housing

You should complete a Jigsaw housing application on the South Staffordshire Council Website.

Once your housing application is completed, your personal advisor will email South Staffs Council to highlight that you're a care leaver. To support your application, you will need to upload proof of ID, 3 months of bank statements and 5 year address history. This is standard for all applications.

Details of application will be added to the South Staffordshire Council's Direct Nomination list. This list is reviewed on a Tuesday afternoon each week, against any new properties provided by housing associations for nomination, prior to any adverts going live.

You will be considered for a property two months prior to your eighteenth birthday. Housing will contact you and your personal advisor to check if a property is suitable. If so, you will be given a formal offer.

Remember

  • Ensure all documents are uploaded
  • Make sure your banding is correct
  • You won't need to bid, however you can still check or ask your personal advisor to contact housing if you see a suitable property online.
  • Attend all appointments and answer any phone calls to housing.
