Underage Sales Volunteers

Trading Standards are always looking for volunteers to assist them with test purchase operations across the County – do you know a young person who could help?

What does a Test Purchase Volunteer Do?

• Enter shops, as directed, and attempt to purchase an age restricted product, such as alcohol or vapes.
• Not engage in unnecessary conversation.
• Be aware of surroundings and observant when inside a shop.
• Engage with other volunteers; Trading Standards Staff and Police Officers.

Are there any specific qualifications or skills required?

• Able to understand and follow instructions.
• Good observational skills.
• Truthful.
• Patient.
• Respectful.
• A desire to help prevent criminal activities.
