The Care Market Development Team shares with Staffordshire Care Providers information about activities, meetings and events across Staffordshire and Midlands which support the Adult Care Sector workforce to lead, deliver and grow.
Celebrating Dignity Action Day and ten years of awards to recognise countys carers.
During the last ten years of the awards, over one thousand nominations have been made, with over 100 people being crowned as dignity champions. Nominating someone for an award is quick and easy and can be done online at Nomination 2024. People who need help completing a nomination can speak to the team at dignity@staffordshire.gov.uk or by calling 01785 355 795. The deadline for nominations is 28 April 2024.

Important Training
The Care Market Development Team have free training courses and webinars running over the coming months. Care Providers in Staffordshire are eligible to attend these training events. Staffordshire County Council is charged and whilst there is not a cost to providers of care in Staffordshire, public money has been utilised to fund the training.
If you cannot attend, you can send someone in your place but we require notification to update records.
There is a limit of 2 people per registered location for the training, we would ask that you not book more than 2 spaces for any training session to ensure other care providers are able to access the training.

Safeguarding Responsibilities for Care Providers
Staffordshire County Council are excited to offer a webinar for care providers in the health and social care sector. The objectives of the webinar include the different categories of abuse. To ensure understanding of provider responsibilities when it comes to safeguarding adults with care and support needs. To clarify when an adult safeguarding concern should be raised with the Local Authority and what a “good” referral looks like. To consider provider actions when not raising a concern.
Mental Capacity Act 2005 - Application into practice
Intended for all frontline staff working in the health and social care sector. The programme for the event will include. Principles of the Mental Capacity Act.
Supported decision making. The assessment process of establishing capacity. Good practice in assessment and recording. Best Interests Decisions. S4 Checklist. Lawful restraint as outlined in S5 of the MCA and limitations introduced in S6. Case Law that has informed practice.
