In-year school admissions and the Fair Access Protocol (FAP)

How to apply for an in-year admission to change your child's school during the school year and the Fair Access Protocol (FAP)

Fair Access Protocol (FAP)

All local authorities must have in place a fair access protocol under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 agreed with the majority of schools in its area to ensure that – outside the normal admission round – unplaced children who are not on the roll of a school where the in year admissions process has failed, especially the most vulnerable, are offered a place at a mainstream school as quickly as possible.
