Pay a Penalty Notice
If your child has unauthorised absences from school, you may get a penalty notice. This notice gives you the chance to pay a fixed fine instead of going to court.
Penalty notices are issued for:
- Persistent absence
- Unauthorised term-time holidays
- A child found in a public place during school hours while excluded
Payment must be made using the reference number in your penalty notice letter.
