Overview
Some residential and business areas have little or no off-street parking. This often leads to problems when lots of vehicles—usually from outside the area—park on the street and the drivers leave to access facilities elsewhere.
In places where residents and businesses struggle to park, Staffordshire County Council (SCC) may introduce permit parking schemes. These schemes require all vehicles to display a permit showing they are allowed to park in the area. This helps protect local communities from people looking for free or convenient parking, especially where property owners have no choice but to park on the street.
