Stone Library – A brief history of Stone Library

Keeley Spilsbury discusses the fascinating history of the building now known as Stone Library. She will cover its journey from the original wooden structure, through its reconstruction and period as a market hall, to its use as a restaurant during World War II. Following the market's decline, it even served as a boxing ring!

Keeley will also delve into the lengthy decision-making process regarding whether Staffordshire County Council should convert the Market Hall into a library, culminating in its refurbishment in the early 2000s.
