Why visit Newcastle Library
The above are just a few examples of what you will find at the library, but there is lots more on offer.
Activities and events
Looking for an event or activity? Search our library events page to find out more.
Sunflower hour
Not all disabilities are visible, introducing Sunflower Hour - a calmer time in our libraries for all.
During this time, the library will be more quiet, and lights will be dimmed to help reduce overstimulation.
It is a free-to-attend event, every Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm.
Autism friendly map
We like to make our libraries as friendly and accessible as possible. Our simple visual floor plans can be viewed on a mobile device or printed off to bring with you on your visit.
