Fees and Charges from 1 April 2025
The Staffordshire Record Office's onsite public service have now temporarily closed. This is to enable preparatory surveys to take place prior to construction of the Staffordshire History Centre. Copying services
All orders placed by post/email:
- £9.50 per fifteen minutes. We produce digital images as standard, if hard copies are required additional postage and packaging costs will be charged.
- We also reserve the right to charge in addition a research fee (at £38 per hour) in the case of complex orders.
Quick look up fee
£9.50 will be charged for a 15 minute look-up to search an identified document for a specific piece of information.
Research fee (Stoke-on-Trent City Archives Service)
- £38 per hour (minimum charge £9.50 for 15 minutes)
Certification fee
- £19 per document
Computer print out for in person visitors
- A4: 20p per copy (Staffordshire)
- A4: 10p per copy (Stoke-on-Trent)
Photocopy orders identified and placed by in person visitors
- Black and white or colour £1.60 per copy.
Photography
Permits for use of hand held camera
- Daily permit: £8.00
- Annual Permit: £50
Specialist private photography
Proportion of staff time required to facilitate photography, based on current research fee scale.
In-house photographic service fees incl: large scanning orders
£38 per hour for all time spent processing your order. Images will usually be provided by FTP server download. A minimum charge of £19 is payable per order.
We also reserve the right to charge in addition a proportion of research fee in the case of complex orders.
Licence fees
Commercial publication or exhibition
- This includes websites and excludes eBooks and DVDs:
£60 for single item; £35 for each additional item.
- This includes websites, eBooks and DVDs:
£80 for a single item; £40 for additional item; plus £60 per order for e-books
Community/academic publication or exhibition
£20 for a single item; £7.50 each additional item.
TV broadcast and onsite filming and online publishing
£260 per item; plus £110 for each subsequent item; plus staff time and travel expenses if staff are involved.
Talks and visits
Weekday talks included in talks programme
£60 county/city; £60 plus travel time out of county
Group visits to Collections Stores
£5 per head (including refreshments). Minimum charge £60 per group.
