Overview
The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Archive Service collects, preserves and provides access to records that reflect the history and development of our communities. We help residents, researchers and visitors explore the past and understand the present.
What we do
We collect and protect important records and objects from the past. These help tell the story of life in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
We make these collections available for everyone to explore and enjoy. We work together across both councils and welcome visitors to three places:
• Staffordshire History Centre in Stafford
• Stoke-on-Trent City Archives in Hanley
• Lichfield Heritage Access Point in Lichfield
Our vision
We want to help people connect with the stories and memories of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
We aim to:
• Work closely with partners
• Be strong and sustainable
• Reach more people and welcome new visitors
• Share what we know across the UK
• Make it easy to explore our collections online
