Staffordshire County Council uses a payment for skills approach to foster carer pay.

When you apply to become a foster carer your skills and experience will be assessed and the level you will be paid will be decided.

What skills and experience are you bringing to fostering?

I’m new to fostering and willing to complete some training during the assessment process. (Level 2)
I have some relevant professional childcare experience or experience of working with vulnerable children. (Level 3)
I currently foster for an independent fostering agency or other local authority. (Level 3 or 4)
I have significant professional or personal experience of working with children who have challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties (Enhanced)
