County councillors

A county councillor is elected to represent the interests of everyone in their constituency for a four-year period. The last elections were held in 2021.

Your county councillor

Your county councillor should be able to explain the actions of the council in terms of service priorities, measures and targets to you and ensure that your views are brought to bear on the council's decisions.

A county councillor is expected to ensure that council matters are conducted in an open and accountable manner.

County councillors are sometimes referred to as Members.
