Childcare and early provision

What’s available?

For 2-year-olds

Some children aged 2 may be eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare per week starting from the term after their second birthday.
This is known locally as Think2.

For 3 and 4-year-olds

All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare per week from the term after their third birthday.
You do not need to apply, but your childcare provider may ask for proof of identity (e.g. passport or birth certificate).

30 hours funded childcare

Working parents may be eligible for an additional 15 hours, making up to 30 hours per week.
Each parent must work at least 16 hours per week at minimum wage or above.

Support for children with SEND

Staffordshire’s SEND Family Partnership provides advice and support for families with children aged 0–25 who have special educational needs or disabilities.
