Child exploitation

Support for children and young people who have been or are at risk of being exploited.

Last updated: 27th November

Child exploitation is when someone takes advantage of a child or young person. This can happen in different ways, like making them do things they don’t want to do, or tricking them into dangerous situations.

In Staffordshire, we are working hard to stop this from happening.

What we’re doing

We have a plan to help protect children and young people. This plan is called the Child Exploitation Strategy. It helps us:

  • Stop exploitation before it happens
  • Spot the signs early
  • Take action to keep children safe

We work with families, schools, communities, and professionals to make sure children are protected.

Our goals

We want to make sure:

  • Children and young people are not victims of exploitation
  • Families, communities, and professionals know how to keep children safe
  • People do not harm or trick children into doing things they shouldn’t
