Our Commercial Team leads procurement and contract management, ensuring we deliver value for money for Staffordshire residents.
What we do
The Commercial Team:
- Provides expert procurement advice
- Manage contracts across a wide range of categories
- Works with suppliers to select, award and manage agreements
- Ensures quality, efficiency and strong outcomes
- Uses national buying power to maximise value
We work closely with partners including:
- Local authorities
- NHS and emergency services
- Education providers
- The Local Government Association (LGA)
- Central government
We follow the LGA’s National Procurement Strategy to guide our approach.
Procurement Act 2023
The Procurement Act 2023 came into effect on 24 February 2025. It introduced new rules for higher-value procurements.

Central digital platform
Providers must register on the Central Digital Platform to:
- View and manage procurement notices
- Submit standard supplier data
