Getting started
If you think you need support, the first step is to request a social care assessment. This assessment is free and helps identify your needs and whether you are eligible for funded services.
- Call Staffordshire Cares 0300 111 8010 (Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (except bank holidays).
- Online: request an assessment for adult social care.
Once your assessment is complete, we’ll work with you to create a care and support plan based on your goals.

Costs and payment
If you have eligible care needs, we’ll work with you to create a care and support plan. Funding options include:
- Personal budgets and direct payments – giving you choice and control.
- Private payment – if you are not eligible for financial support.
Before starting, agree terms and conditions with your provider. Check details like attendance days, transport, charges for non-attendance, and any extra costs for meals or outings.
