Trade waste disposal scheme

Trade waste can only be accepted, subject to capacity, at the following sites during the times as summarised below:

  • Cannock Recycling Centre – Daily between 10:00 – 16:00 hrs
  • Burton Recycling Centre – Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 – 16:30 hrs
  • Stafford Recycling Centre – Daily between 10:00 – 15:00 hrs

Biddulph Recycling Centre does not accept trade waste.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we currently cannot accept green waste or metals at Wombourne Recycling Centre. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

When using our Trade Waste scheme, please ensure that you bring your current Waste Carriers Licence with you.

We accept trade waste in many of our sites across Staffordshire.

There will be some changes to the way our Household Waste Recycling centres work, the first of which is explained below:

From the 5th June 2023 the Staffordshire Household Waste Recycling Centres will only be accepting trade and commercial waste from businesses in Staffordshire. All trade visitors will need to provide a copy of their waste carriers licence and business address before disposing of waste.

How to apply for a licence

To apply for a licence, you need to contact the Environment Agency on 0370 850 6506

You don’t need to apply for a Trade Waste permit. You must provide a copy of your waste carriers licence and business address to dispose of trade waste.

Please note:
Although trade waste is accepted on 13 of our sites, we have the right to refuse waste at any time if we have insufficient capacity on site or members of the public are unable to dispose of their household waste due to the amount of trade waste being taken in. Priority will be given to members of public to dispose of their waste.
