About library volunteering

Volunteering at your library is flexible, and designed around your interests.

5 reasons to volunteer at Your Library:

  • You decide how much you would like to volunteer - all we ask is two hours a week
  • Make new friends, since 2016 over 850 people have volunteered across our library network
  • Develop new skills
  • Anyone can volunteer - you don't need qualifications or particular skills
  • Make a difference to your community

How you can help

With new and varied voluntary roles in libraries across Staffordshire, some of the things you can do include:

  • Helping your community to discover all your library has to offer
  • Support housebound people to access books and information
  • Running community events
  • Helping people to get online and learn IT skills
  • Supporting people to process their Blue Badge Applications
  • Volunteering in a Start-Up Business Hub
  • Taking part in Summer Reading Challenge volunteer opportunities for 13 - 17-year-old
  • Supporting our Places of Welcome coffee and chat sessions

The possibilities are endless!
