Walking Bus

The Walking Bus scheme has been successfully operating in Staffordshire schools since 1999.  The scheme promotes walking to school and a healthy, active lifestyle whilst caring for the local environment at the same time.

Walking Bus has undergone a major revamp last year and has had a relaunch and refresh with 78 schools expressing an interest in having a walking bus at their school. Fifteen routes have been assessed and are ready to launch when the schools have volunteers on board.

Staffordshire County Council will support your school with resources and equipment as well as a route audit. All Walking Bus leaders need to be DBS checked and will receive training information on how to operate the Walking Bus on a safe route.
