WELLIES Moorlands Multiply

This course will teach use practical and creative skills whilst developing key maths skills used in everyday life. At the end of the course you will take away your hand made design.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is aimed at people who would like to improve their everyday used maths skills. The course is aimed at developing learners confidence using numbers to improve their life and provide a platform to learn other new skills.   

Entry Requirements

Anyone over 16 years of age, living or working in the Staffordshire Moorlands who would like to improve their health & wellbeing, confidence,communication skills and be more confident and fluent with numeracy to help them in their everyday lives.

Course Content

Each course will be based  on a different creative technique such as wreath making, willow weaving and upcycled bird boxes and bird feeders. Each course will use maths skills to work out problems such as unit cost of materials, cost price, selling price, mark up, profit, scaling up and developing skills for employment or enterprise. At the end of the course you will take away your handmade design.

Practical tasks, discussion and individual learning plans that track personal development and progress.

Course Materials

All materials will be supplied. The course is designed to be a hands on experience making creative products. With support from tutors learners will develop new practical skills using maths to achieve the end product.
