Four Seasons Festive Crafts: Support your wellbeing and your Community
Join us and create some lovely festive countryside crafts. Upcycle, forage for rustic resources and add some favourites of your own too to create festive hand crafted items for you and your family and support others in your community too.
Aims of Course
This is an introductory course for Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who would like to support their wellbeing, including those who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed.
Entry Requirements
No prior experience or formal entry requirements are needed to take part in this course, just an interest in gaining confidence in your English, Maths and Digital skills. You will be able to work with others as part of a team, and design, make and market festive rustic products.
Course Content
An introduction to festive rustic art and craft, this course will support your wellbeing, and guide you through the skills and techniques needed to complete your projects, including foraging for organic resources from our garden and hedgerow. We take inspiration from different cultures and festive traditions around the world, and you will consider how you can help support others in your local community too.
How you will learn?
This is a face-to-face learning course with a 'learning at home' element - you will complete 2.15 hours face to face at CARE plus 45 mins independent activities at home.
Learner support
Your Tutor will support your learning, including help with IT skills to photograph and record your work. Transport to the centre will be available from Cannock Leisure Centre; Hednesford Tesco's; Penkridge Village; Stafford Sainsbury's; and The Royal Oak car park at Rising Brook. Please ask for details and times when you enrol.
Course Assessments
At the start of your course the tutor will find out a little more about you, your previous learning, the support you may need, what you would like to achieve on the course and guide you to set some personal goals. This is completed on-line using Microsoft Forms. During the course you will be asked to reflect on your learning at regular ponts and will receive feedback from your tutor on your progress and achievement. You will receive a personal certificate of achievement at the end of the course.

Most course resources will be provided by CARE. You may like to add some foraged or upcycled resources of your own
What can learners progress onto next?
At the end of the course you will be provided with information/advice on other learning opportunities/local activities available on-line and in your community. This could include vocational skills in Floristry, Art, Green Crafts, Rural Crafting, also personal development in English, numeracy and digital skills, volunteering and employability skills.
