Respite services
We appreciate the incredible dedication of carers and acknowledge the challenges and responsibilities that may come with supporting someone with a learning disability or autism. We understand the importance of carers having a chance to recharge their batteries, to allow them to carry on in their caring role. We also understand the benefit for the individual of having a break away from the home for a few days, as they can be supported to establish new friendships, join in both internal and external activities, and just have some fun when staying for respite.
Douglas Road offers an 8-bed service for the purpose of planned short breaks for a range of people from the age of 18 upward with a presenting need of learning disability and other associated needs.
