Looking after your sexual health is a vital part of taking care of your physical and mental health.  Health promotion and prevention are at the heart of the services offered across Staffordshire.

This includes:

  • Planning for and using contraception
  • Understanding changes to your body
  • Learning how to avoid sexually transmitted infections.
  • Knowing where to go for help and advice.

Sexual health clinics

The Sexual Health Clinics across Staffordshire are run by Openclinic.

They offer a full range of services including:

  • Emergency & long-term contraception
  • Testing & treatment for infections spread by sex or sexual contact (STI’s)
  • HIV Testing, treatment, prevention & support (Including PrEP & PEPSE)
  • Counselling
  • Advice & Information

Online services

Online Services are also available through the Openclinic website so you can:

  • Book appointments
  • Register for the condom scheme
  • Request home STI tests
  • Find advice and information

Pharmacies

Pharmacies across the Staffordshire offer a range of services including:

  • Emergency contraception
  • Testing and treatment for infections spread by sex / sexual contact (STI's)
  • Pregnancy testing (by referral)
  • Free condoms via the C-Card scheme

Pharmacy services for Staffordshire are provided by Central Health solutions. You can find your nearest pharmacy and see what they offer on the Central Health website.

Oral contraception (the pill) is available via the NHS at some pharmacies. These pharmacies can do repeat prescriptions of your usual pill and will soon be able to do pill checks and new pill prescriptions too. You can find pharmacies offering oral contraception via the NHS on the NHS website
