Environmental regulation
This regulation helps protect the environment, local communities, and the integrity of the planning system.
The number of active sites in Staffordshire changes each year, but it is usually around 300. The Council carries out regular monitoring visits to authorised sites when needed. These visits check that planning conditions and any section 106 legal agreements are being followed.
The Staffordshire Local Enforcement Plan explains how the Council monitors and enforces minerals and waste development in line with Government policies, guidance, and laws. It also lists the latest monitoring fees for mineral extraction and waste landfill sites, as required by Government regulations.
